Albert Whitted Park

Albert Whitted Park truly has a little bit of everything. All ages will enjoy this spot located at the southern tip of the St. Pete downtown waterfront, making it the perfect place to come and watch the sunset! It’s also just moments away from the Dali Museum, making it easy to enjoy both attractions in one afternoon. At the park, you’ll find a huge playground for the kids, plenty of covered picnic tables to enjoy a meal with your family, and convenient restrooms.

Albert Whitted Park is located at 480 Bayshore Drive SE in St. Petersburg. It opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes at 11 p.m.

Elva Rouse Park & Gizella Kopsick Arboretum

Located in downtown St. Petersburg, Elva Rouse Park is considered to be one of the most scenic parks in the area! Surround yourself with stunning views of the water and beautiful trails for a fun afternoon with your loved ones, all while staying active. The park is home to the Gizella Kopsick Arboretum, which has welcomed guests since 1976 and is home to more than 150 species of palms and cycads! Nature lovers will definitely not want to miss a trip to this gorgeous location. If you family is more into sea life than plant life, you can take them on a dolphin tour!

Elva Rouse Park and the Gizella Kopsick Arboretum are located on North Shore Drive between 10th and 13th Avenues NE in St. Petersburg. They open 30 minutes before sunrise and close at 11 p.m.

North Shore Park

North Shore Park, as you can probably guess, is located on the north shores of St. Petersburg. This park is a particularly popular option for traveling with pets since there is a dog park right on the property! The park has a long list of engaging activities, including beach volleyball, tennis, softball, and an expansive playground for the younger kids. Bring along a cooler of your favorite snacks and set up at one of the picnic shelters for beautiful views of the water and quality time with your loved ones. 

North Shore Park is located at 901 North Shore Drive NE in St. Petersburg. It opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes at 11 p.m.

Sand Key Park

One of the best Clearwater parks is Sand Key Park, a breathtaking destination located right on the shoreline. With direct access to the beach and a vast selection of beach cabanas, you won’t want to leave! Your children will always be safe under the watchful eye of the lifeguards, and there’s an amazing dog-friendly park right next door. There are tons of parking spaces to accommodate as many guests as possible. Other available services include a concession stand, a spacious picnic area, beach wheelchairs, and more. 

Sand Key Park is located at 1060 Gulf Boulevard in Clearwater. It opens at 7 a.m. daily and closes at dusk.

Pier 60 Park in under the sun and on the water in St. Pete Clearwater

Pier 60 Park

Finally, one of the most exciting parks in Clearwater is Pier 60 Park. As you can guess, there’s an awesome pier located here, extending more than 1,000 feet out into the water. This area is excellent for casting your line and trying to catch a fish or simply enjoying a phenomenal sunset. If you do choose to fish, there’s a convenient bait shop right on the pier, offering everything from fishing tackle and rental equipment to snacks and souvenirs. Want to watch the sunset? There’s a fun event called “Sunsets at Pier 60”, which offers tons of crafts and entertainment each night from 6 to 9 p.m. Your kids will love the park’s playground, which is one of the biggest on the entire Gulf! 

Pier 60 Park is located at 7 Causeway Boulevard in Clearwater Beach. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 364 days a year.
